Made in Muskoka Christmas show is this weekend. Got home for a few hours and got the booth up (not without lots of help, for which I am so grateful). Show is on all weekend at Sutherland Hall. Check out the Facebook page and be sure to come by the show! It is jam packed with amazing talent and awesome one of a kind Christmas gifts! Not to mention all the new images and products at my own booth.

the support and words of encouragement to both my sister and our family has been amazing. we are all so grateful for your words, thoughts, prayers, meals and visits. it has been quite a journey, these last 26 days. we are so lucky my little sister is so brave and strong; she has been through countless tests, procedures and treatments, and it seems a new health challenge arises almost daily, but she meets each morning with optimism that it may be the day that things turn around. her spirit and tenacity are certainly admirable.
the good doctors here have finally determined why these blood clots developed, subsequently causing the three pulmonary embolisms and three strokes which brought us here: it is cancer. she has a somewhat unusual cancer that is often found in non-smoking, otherwise healthy women in her age group. this cancer is treatable and chemotherapy began last Friday. she is still an inpatient at St. Michaels' in Toronto. we ask for very few visitors, but your prayers and thoughts are so welcomed.
we are still trying to make progress with her speech (which is coming along very well), and her mobility, but there are a couple of complications currently impeding progress in the mobility area.
however you choose to pray, please do....let us pray for increased mobility for Jody, that no more clots are formed, and there are no more strokes and lastly that the chemotherapy does its job in getting things under control.
enjoy every precious moment you are living.

at 3am two weeks ago today i flew in the ornge helicopter with my little sister to st. michael's in toronto. our lives have changed forever. jody suffered three strokes but luckily pulled through. she is now showing quick progress for an amazing recovery. she has been up walking, with her right leg working again. she is working diligently on her speech and is happy to be able to communicate a little better. we were ecstatic the other day when she was able to make a fist with her right hand. for now we will continue to work hard and make progress in these areas while the doctors continue their quest to determine the underlying cause of the blood clotting. for those of you who might not know my sister, she is a 38 year old, healthy and active IT consultant for Trillium Lakelands. she has been working toward a VP position and subsequently a principal position. she has two children, 8+10, who are super funny, smart and polite young boys. she has never smoked a day in her life, drinks very minimally, eats healthy and exercise regularly. i thank every one of you for your kind words and support over the last two weeks. we have a long road ahead and look forward to getting some answers and moving forward more. i will continue to be in toronto with my sister; i am not coming home without her. let us be mindful to cherish every moment; life is too unpredictable.

sometimes the sun doesn't shine on wedding day, but the soft light of an overcast day coupled with mist from a waterfall and a couple oozing with love makes the perfect ingredient list for romantic images. but even when surrounded by such romantic beauty, we can't forget to make a couple of fun images to keep it real.

what a fun couple...and just so lovely, not to mention photogenic!
i was just thrilled to get an email from her this morning:

"We wanted to pass along the biggest thank you for your presence last weekend.
YOU were amazing and made the whole day such fun for everyone on the other side of the lens.

Everyone commented on how impressed they were that you got in the water, remembered names, got creative, etc...

You certainly make it comfortable and exciting!
Truly, thank you so very much.

We are SOOOOOO excited to see your work though I know it won't be for awhile yet.

Thanks again... hope the rest of 'wedding season' is fun and enjoyable!

From a very happy husband and wife (still getting used to it so need to say it lots)."
